Pictures of Muar's Streets taken during CNY

Starting point of Jalan Abdullah ( Ji Beh Lor) - BELOW
Watch tower -newly constructed.
A busy street especially during festive seasons
The police act fast on double parked cars!-A ticket- like a piece of expensive bak Kua will be served to you!
This building housed the former old theatre at Jalan Abdullah-Can't remember the name of the old theatre! I had seen the show "THE STING" in this cinema before and many many other shows.
Sometimes two old show screened together in one sitting can go for RM 0.40 & RM 0.65 ONLY in 1975. You could offer the watchman RM 0.20 for a show too!! The procedures was when you enter the cinema;just sit around the seats where he can notice you and when the lights are off,he will approach you to collect the twenty cents from you.
Kua Chi was five cents for two packets. You can smoke and drink in the cinema and you can see many ekor tikus running around your surrounding chairs but they will never touch you cos they know their limits too. They just waana to have fun with your chicken wing's bone and some pop corn-if you dropped it!.
When you feel excited during the show, you can always lift up the wooden bottom seats -half way, only(of couse the hinges were on) and started flipping and banging with a loud noise Or when suddenly in the middle of the show the screen went dark or lights were kaput...AND even with a kissing scene on show...you can shout ,band the chairs ( suprisingly the wooden chairs were tough),whistle and scold your BEST four + 4 letters words and whatever "F"'words to no one's business!!THINKING back- ALL those idiots and damn-damn men and women were only shouting to the screen!!Enjoy huh? What a wonderful outing for these jakun and sakai gang>me huh!?
Maklumlah tamadun orang kampung ma!Anyway, that's how they release their tension,Mind you there was no Kara-ok yet.

Don Yoo, good snapshot!!!! a lot of changes along Muar streets, except your childhood home.Surprise the building is old but its structure remain solid and sound, the front is about the same like 25 years ago,but the shop lot opposite is totally different, the pasar n bridge all got a new face lift, does not look like Muar at all. Did you modify your camera setting or redraw your photo image ?
