This photograph was taken on 27.Febuary.1979 with the family of Encik Mat Sidek Bin Datin Talib,he was then a PJK and Wakil POS Pulau Perhentian,Kuala Besut,Trengganu. The was a STARmetro news report on this island which was published on page M26 on 12 August 2008 and a brief history of the earlier settler on the island dated back to 18 Century.It was mentioned that the last Batin Chief was Batin Sidek who died in the early 1990s.I am not so sure was he the one which i met during my stay in 1979. In year 1979,there was no hotel on the island. I had to put up a night in his house . We had some chat during the night and he shown me his rifle and some stories about the island.During that time he was the Head -Penghulu on the island. I'm going to make my trip up to the island again on the 20 to 23 of August. And this time around i am going to see the changes on this island and i definitely will visit this Sidek Families.

Oh yes we were all 18 + then.Goh Kheng Thai was in our group too.Only 4 of us.We travelled from Muar to Kota Tinggi>Mersing>Endau -Rompin>Kuantan>Tasik Chini>Gua Panching>Trenggagu>Kota Baru>Pulau Perhentian>KL>Pulau Pangkor(Last Stop)I have plenty of these trip's photo with me.
Are four of you still doing some travels together lately in Malaysia lately , Mr Donyoo?
My guess is not, nowadays almost everyone in our group had already tied the knot and having own children around making it very unlikely, right? Even in your case, going camping and travel with former buddies will be very difficult due to work schedule and personal responsibility wise.Those memory time are hard to relive again.
