Dog mauls would-be thief to death ... or did he?
In Tampin, A 29-year-old would-be-thief died after he was believed to have been mauled by a dog at Taman Asahan in Gemencheh near here early Tuesday.
The victim had allegedly tried to rob a security guard known only as Arumugam at a shoplot when the dog pounced on him in the 12.30am incident. It is learnt that the dog belonged to Arumugam.
However the police have yet to determine the cause of death because the victim and the security guard were also involved in a scuffle before the dog bit the victim.
Police found that the victim had bruises all over his body. Preliminary investigations show that he may also have been hit with a blunt object
Policemen then sent the victim to Tampin Hospital but he was pronounced dead 30 minutes later. His remains have been sent to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital for a post mortem to establish the actual cause of death.
Police have detained the security guard to assist in their investigation Please ask the CSI to check for dog's bite evidence.
