Fish Therapy

The same "fish therapy" issue was high lighted in my blog way back in 2008. During that time i foresee the danger of using this method of "therapy" in the SPA or any concealed tank( check out -The little fish from Turkey; in my blog dated 12/01/2008 posting.Labeled: my view).

When i was in Kanchanaburi, Thailand in December 2009; there are many of this hungry fishes (unknown spices) in the Erawan Water fall area in Kanchanaburi.

（八打灵再也20日讯）卫生总监拿督哈山阿都拉曼表示，鱼疗足浴可成为散播爱滋病、C型肝炎及其他疾病的温床。

他说，鱼疗池内的鱼只，可透过啮咬不同顾客的脚部，成为传播爱滋病毒的媒介。

《每日新闻》报道，如果业者没有定时更换鱼疗池的池水，有关池水则可能变成传染C型肝炎及其他皮肤病的温床，特别是在许多患有相关疾病者使用该池水之后。

哈山指出，如果鱼疗是通过单独使用的方式进行，就符合安全标准，而非目前共用鱼疗池的方式。

“这种方式（鱼疗足浴）会带来很大的感染疾病风险，因为疾病可透过鱼只及重复使用的池水传播。”

询及卫生部将采取哪些行动，以确保民众不受感染。

他说，该部目前无权禁止或关闭鱼疗足浴店，无论如何，该部将尝试解决这项问题，包括修改相关法令。

糖尿病患勿参与

他说，卫生部目前经常监督鱼疗足浴店的运作，包括每6个月展开一次检查，确保业者遵守当局的规定。

《每日新闻》指出，英国的《太阳报》日前报道，英国卫生防护局已发出警告，指鱼疗足浴可传播危险疾病，并促请患有糖尿病及牛皮癣的民众不要进行这种治疗方式。

《每日新闻》指出，该报发现许多参与鱼疗足浴的民众，都不知道这种服务将带来负面效果，例如感染危险疾病的风险。
